Etymology
Either from Old Korean 乎尸矣 (*-woltoy) or Old Korean 乎隱矣 (*-wontoy), both of which are attested in 12-13th century Gugyeol sources.[1]

- Make a banner in five colors, and make it forty-nine feet long
- suffix used to introduce a quotation.
- 1447, 석보상절 (釋譜詳節), volume 6:
- 내〮 ᄉᆞ라ᇰ호〮ᄃᆡ〮 어누〮 藏ㅅ 金이〮ᅀᅡ〮 마〮치〮 ᄭᆞᆯ이〮려뇨〮 ᄒᆞ〮노〮ᅌᅵ다〮
- I am wondering, "Which storage house's gold would cover it perfectly?"
