Middle Korean
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From earlier *저ᄫᅳ룸 (*ceWulwum), attested in the Chaoxian Guanyiyu under Mandarin orthography 則卜論 (zébǔlùn). Further etymology unclear; seems to be an 음 (-um) nominalization of an unattested verb. Not attested in any other sense than as an Earthly Branch, although other Earthly Branches are referred to by corresponding animal names in Middle Korean.
