Diacritical mark

- (phonetics) The higher of two mid tones in the transcription of a language with four or six pitch levels. Contrasts with the macron ⟨◌̄⟩ for the lower mid tone.
- (phonetics) Used to mark mid tone when the macron is used for vowel length.
- (IPA) Marks syllabicity on a letter with a descender, such as ⟨ŋ̍⟩. Compare the default syllabicity diacritic ⟨◌̩⟩.
