Etymology
Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘄𑘨𑘜𑘹 (uraṇe), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀉𑀯𑁆𑀯𑀭𑀺𑀅 (uvvaria, past participle), 𑀉𑀯𑁆𑀯𑀭𑀁𑀢 (uvvaraṃta, present participle) (compare Sanskrit उर्वरित (urvarita, “left, left over”)). Cognate with Hindustani اُبَرْنَا (ubarnā) / उबरना (ubarnā, “to be kept in reserve, to be left over”), Sindhi اُٻِرَڻُ / उॿिरणु.
