[edit]From Sanskrit मेहति (mehati), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hmáyȷ́ʰati, from Proto-Indo-European *h₃méyǵʰeti (“to urinate”). Cognate with Shina مِیونۆ (myōno), Persian میختن (mixtan), Portuguese mijar, Dutch mijgen (“to urinate”), Lithuanian mȳžti.
