Etymology

Borrowed from Russian причастие (pričastije), from Old Church Slavonic причѧстьѥ (pričęstĭje), a calque of Latin participium. By surface analysis, при- (pri-, “part”) +‎ част (čast) +‎ -ие (-ie).
